Pros

most of the staff there are knowledgeable and willing to help. If you are looking to get your feet wet in the animal care industry, this position will do it for you.

Cons

The veterinarian at Ardda is intellectually gifted, but extremely ill tempered and verbally abusive. His bedside manner leaves much to be desired by clients, whom often transfer due to the poor mannerisms of the owner of this practice. The owner can often be heard making inappropriate statements about race, politics, etc. There is a high rate of employee turn over. This practice owner leads with passive aggression, and there is very little room to learn due to the environment that is created by the owner.

Pros

The staff, minus the doctor, are absolutely amazing. Everyone is willing to help each other without complaint and we're basically a family.

Cons

You're waking up every day to go work a living nightmare. The doctor admits to constantly belittling his employees and frequently says he won't apologize for it. Everything can be going right and at 8:30 am before appointments even start the doctor is setting the mood for everyone by implying everything is being done wrong. You're constantly walking on eggshells and nothing you do ever pleases him. He speaks of incentive programs and giving us bonuses when we bust our butts to meet one of his extreme high set goals, yet you look in your paycheck and nothing is different. The doctor is very stingey with money, only buys 1 pack of paper at a time from walmart and when we run out he'll say for days he refuses to go get more and make us reuse paper until there's nothing left in the hospital. We had to use EKG paper for our credit card terminal for 2 days because he refused to go to staples and buy a roll. He refuses to keep enough products for the clients in stock, we've been out of flea meds for cats for about 4 days and it's always questionable whether or not he'll order more. He'll show you the days numbers at the end of the day and tell you we didn't make enough to make rent and guilt trip you constantly. Literally walks around saying "poor DK" a million times a day, and my first week working here and described himself as a toddler throwing a perpetual temper tantrum 3 times.
