Pros

I started working for AVI-SPL about a year ago as an on-site AV technician contractor on a client site. My time there was fantastic but came to an abrupt halt as the company I was on-site for decided not to renew the contract and hire a full-time AV tech that would also be the sole IT endpoint engineer. When I was told that my services would no longer be needed, upper management stepped in and found a place for me in the global helpdesk. They had no obligation to make my transition into a new role so smooth, as a previous contractor, I know they could have simply thanked me for my services and said good luck! Instead, I am now happily acclimating to my new role and looking forward to continuing my career within the AV industry. The sense of urgency they showed to keep me onboard and employed instilled a sense of loyalty in me towards the company and is an example of how fairly they can treat their employees. I am grateful for the opportunities AVI-SPL has provided me thus far and look forward to continuing growing alongside with them.

Cons

Maybe the health benefits could be a bit more affordable if I'm being picky, I would say they are middle of the road, however, I have only been here a year and you can see that there is an effort to keep improving.

Pros

Regionally dominant, opportunity for growth is there. Steady work, and management seems to let onsite techs do their best without micromanaging. The service team is top-notch if you ever need to lean on them.

Cons

Benefits. they need to address benefits to help retain top-end talent. PTO and vesting schedule is a little weak. LOTS of middle management in some areas. Health prems and 401k match are also not so great
