Management is fantastic and very responsive and will work with you. I am a single mom of two kids, and the management team and the clients understand e come up. I’m also a medical student, and the management team considered all that and worked with me; they even gave me more/fewer hours when I asked. The management team doesn’t just assign clients to you randomly all over the place; they consider your start/ end time/days are available and will ask you first if specific addresses and areas work for you. Everything is done from your phone on an app.
The Clients can be sweet and unique and cranky, but hey, like us, there Human. If you present yourself in a positive, caring mood, it can change everyone’s perspective. Their families are supportive and amazing. This is a family-type job ( meaning you become part of your clients family ) ( I had a client that loved seeing me, and his family told me he would get very excited on Tuesday and Thursday knowing I would become over); he used to tell me stories of his past and he loved playing scrabble and doing puzzles with me he taught me a lot. It’s not always about cleaning or helping the client with the daily living activities sometimes, and it’s about sitting there and talking to them or playing a game. Being a PCA/ caregiver isn’t always about the chores. Sometimes it’s about giving back and helping others and spending company; this is A great job. I hope to come back after I finish work.
Cons
I don’t really have anything to say. Except it hurts when you build a relationship with a client and there family and they pass away. Or they get hospitalized.
