Pros

In Sligo Ballytivnan, Good salary, flexitime (hard to use it), people on teams are generally pleasant, but can be affected by poor culture.

Cons

People can treat each other without respect across the site. Some managers and project managers are more liable for this, and it seems to trickle down into their teams too. A good few people that started around my time, who were in a position to leave and move on did so. The work itself can be okay, some teams do require a lot of overtime. The main issue is people are left to figure everything out for themselves and there is very little support. In my experience no handover, no access to floor, no 1:1 support etc. An unfortunate toxic culture exists that's hard to work in. Some of that comes from unrealistic deadline pressure, but I think most of it comes from a few in middle management creating it. I was in a team with a manager like this, my working life felt like walking on egg shells, unable to sneeze sideways without criticism. Little to no Biotech competitors in surrounding commutable areas, meaning employees are effectively stuck without somewhere to move to, I think poor culture develops because of this. Makes you regret leaving good job with good environment. Difficult on mental and emotional health.

Pros

I learned a lot while working this job. The systems like Veeva and Workfront were difficult to learn at first, but once I got the hang of them it was great. There were a lot of great people working around me that wanted to see me succeed.

Cons

Working as a contract worker had it's cons. At times, it felt like I was a little bit of an afterthought in the company with some superiors because I was not a full time employee. Communication suffered at times as well.
