Great culture but entry-level employees don't get the full perks - Former Engineer AbbVie Employee Review

Pros

The people are absolutely great and there is a lot of opportunity to grow and learn. The perks are great as well.

Cons

Compensation is not competitive and no stock is given until you reach a certain level. How can I justify staying in a high cost of living city when other companies are paying me a much higher base + stock? My skills are transferrable to a tech company which easily pays double what I was making here. AbbVie justifies this with a pension, but that is not enough of an incentive. The high performers are going to get recruited elsewhere because they know their worth (I already saw this happening).

Pros

I learned a lot while working this job. The systems like Veeva and Workfront were difficult to learn at first, but once I got the hang of them it was great. There were a lot of great people working around me that wanted to see me succeed.

Cons

Working as a contract worker had it's cons. At times, it felt like I was a little bit of an afterthought in the company with some superiors because I was not a full time employee. Communication suffered at times as well.
