Pros

I had an excellent manager at Abbott

Cons

In regard to my experience with HR at Abbott... I received a call from HR in September of 2020. HR asked if I was working in the office, and I replied that I was working from the hospital, as my wife was dying and I needed to be by her. I stressed that I was able to successfully work from the hospital. The HR person didn’t seem to care, but just said “you need to be in the office, there’s no exception.” I pleaded again that my wife was dying and I needed to be with her, and that my manager said it was OK to work from the hospital as she said I was just as effective. But again it fell on deaf ears. I believe this shows no empathy and a lack of emotional intelligence. My wife passed away a few weeks later.
