Pros

Some really good people work at the company but they are not fully utilized to their potential. The main pros were the free fruit and soda.

Cons

The company is full of micro-managers. They do not let employees make decisions or really do anything. It made it very hard to execute on anything making it a very frustrating place to be. The leadership team does not provide direction or make decisions. Their is no clear corporate strategy except to buy other smaller companies to help with revenue. Sales and Marketing are not aligned and spin their wheels trying to make things happen. Leadership plays favorites and if you are not on their good side forget it. I saw many unfair things happen to good people when I was there because the boss did not like them. Also for a company that has thousands of customers they do not focus on the customer at all. The customer is the last thing leadership cares about and they are the only reason the company is in business. The marketing department is miserable and has such high turnover and cannot keep any good people there. The division between the Tampa office and MN office is awful. The cultures do not work well together, at all.

Pros

Beautiful environment to work in. Great downtown location on the bus lines. Free soda, coffee, and fruit. Casual dress. All of the people in the company are awesome - smart but very friendly and helpful. I worked for ABILITY for 3.5 years, specifically in the Marketing Department. The employees in the Marketing department are amazing - incredibly smart, forward thinking, helpful and fun. I felt that we all cared about each other and had each other's backs. The VP of Marketing, John Porricolo (who I reported to the majority of my career there) was honestly the best boss I ever had. He encouraged me to grow as an employee and as an individual, and he believed in my talents and abilities. When I doubted myself he would encourage me - this allowed me to learn many new things and see what I was capable of. I learned SO much in my time at ABILITY - skills and knowledge that I am now applying at my new job.

Cons

ABILITY is a company going through a huge growth phase. They are in that "awkward" stage of going from a small company to a large one, so they are in the process of putting procedures and workflows solidly into place. Things move quickly, and can sometimes feel hectic, chaotic, or disorganized, but it's also really exhilarating and fun. You are never bored and there is rarely a dull moment! I believe the growth will also allow for opportunities to grow/move up in the company in the future.
