Dishonest - Program Coordinator Academic Programs International Employee Review

Pros

Some of my coworkers were really fun to work with.

Cons

I had a really bad experience with one of the VPs. They piled so much work on me, I was so stressed trying to get it all done, and I was fired because they said I wasn't light-hearted enough on the job. It was pretty much a personality conflict, which is fair enough, but after they fired me, they lied to the unemployment office to try and avoid paying unemployment insurance. Very negative culture. Toxic. I would just caution anyone to be aware that this is a small corporate environment that is not interested in nurturing employees. The best you can do is use them for the experience, just as they are using you for cheap brain power and labor.

Pros

Benefits, Flexible PTO and a lot of PAID holidays!

Cons

Remote environment for most of us. I prefer to be in person with my coworkers because we collaborate better.

Pros

The core mission around education is sincere, and some of the program coordinators actually care.

Cons

Everything runs on "that's how we've always done it," and when you suggest something better, you get a list of reasons why it won't work before you finish talking. Ask for documentation improvements, streamlined processes, anything — and suddenly you're "not understanding the culture" or "not a team player," which really means don't ask questions. Leadership talks innovation in meetings but guards every actual decision like it's classified, so nothing changes and you end up solving the same problems every cycle. The longer people work there, the more they've just accepted it. New people either go quiet or burn out trying. There's this passive-aggressive undertone where everyone says yes and then does whatever they were planning anyway.
