Accountancy Action Response
6yMany thanks for your review. I've been called many names in my past (mostly by my wife) but erratic is never one I have heard. However I am obviously sorry that you feel that way.
We are very clear in our business about why we will "fire" people.
We even go so far as to have a section on this in our Day 1 induction which may seem strange to some but really helps to set out our stall as to what we deem acceptable and what we don't.
We tell all new associates why we will fire them in the first 3-6 months. None of these are to do with talent or ability or sales numbers.
However we deem the following unacceptable : Laziness , lack of effort , constant lateness / unexplained absence , lack of desire.
Clearly after this initial period there is a greater expectation to deliver fees. Recruitment is a sales environment and one that people should only enter if they understand they need to hit targets. However even after this time we still try to work with under-performers and "firing" them should only be deemed a last resort.
