Pros

Nice facilities, good physical resources. Great kids!

Cons

You will have zero life outside of work. And don't believe they're going to change that. You will be isolated from family and friends. They like to tell you that AF is your new "family". And then they pay big money to bring in Union-busting consultants to make sure we never unite. Sounds like how you'd treat your family, huh? (*sarcasm*) The education for kids is very sub-par. Teachers are not experienced or trained. They like to hire book-smart Ivy types with no real interest in working with children. They may be nice people in other respects but they only see the kids as a stepping stone to their next job. I'm don't even think they see how immoral that is. Certainly management doesn't. The number 1 thing they look for when they promote internally is how willing you will be to fall in line with the "AF line". There will be no outside thinking. It's not allowed to question anything. If you think that it's not OK that kids with special needs are being taught by untrained dilettantes? Too bad. You can't question that. If you think it's wrong that special ed kids and kids with behavior problems are blamed for their own disabilities and pushed out? Too bad. You can't question that. I honest can't take it anymore, and don't think many people with a conscience can. All they care about is their image and they spend BIG BUCKS to create shiny, glossy pamphlets and such. Don't buy it. I'd give zero stars if I could.
