      Impactful but terrible benefits for the surrounding area - Data and Policy Analyst Acumen Employee Review

      Pros

      Super kind and intelligent coworkers. People who want to make a big difference and really mean it. The work you do is so impactful and it really warms your heart to have this chance. Most teams are welcoming and the onboarding process is super helpful for future work down the line. Views of the ocean are also gorgeous.

      Cons

      Pay is low in general and insanely low for the area. The pay between each level of a DPA coming into the company is pretty similar and it's not great. Additionally, the premiums for good health insurance plans are high. Not an abundance of snacks other than the vending machine you have to pay for. I think the tradeoff is you get to do great work but it's hard to stay when you have bills to pay sadly.

      Thanks for leaving us a review. We understand the cost of living in the Bay Area are one of the highest in the country. In 2023 we opened two new office locations in Sacramento, CA and Athens, GA. Now with 5 offices across the country employees have more opportunities to live in an area that's more affordable.

      Pros

      - The work is intellectually engaging and gave me many chances to grow technically. - I learned a lot from talented coworkers and appreciated being part of projects with real-world relevance. - There was also good exposure to translating technical work into clear, usable takeaways.

      Cons

      - The work can be intense and detail-heavy, and deadlines can sometimes feel demanding. - Priorities may shift quickly, which can make it hard to plan ahead. - At times, the volume of revisions and fast pace can be stressful.
