Pros

They are really nice people to have a drink with.

Cons

For all potential candidates. If you go on their website, you might get confused with a 15 year old girl's facebook page. Honestly what professional company with legitimate growth potential, would have the time or care to respond to anonymous internet trolls such as myself (scroll down and notice their lengthy responses to every bad review). Everything about this company screams frat house, as opposed to a legitimate corporation. Save yourselves some time and apply to real companies who actually pay you a salary, as opposed to their measly commission based pay.

Addella Response

Every professional, legitimate company employs somebody on their team to manage the public relations of their overall reputation. Glassdoor is one of the leading companies for employer/employee feedback, therefore it's highly important that we monitor our reviews to make sure we are doing the best job for our team and our clients. It is never a waste of time to respond to our reviews since we prioritize the way people have experienced working with us, regardless of the rating - since our mission is to constantly improve and evolve. By your own admission, this post was created as a form of internet trolling rather than an authentic review of our company. We understand that the sales/marketing industry in Toronto is highly competitive and it's common to see competitors post similar reviews such as this for companies who are doing it right. Our compensation is performance based (as our website clearly states), our reps absolutely get paid - and high performers get compensated well above average for their experience level.

Pros

Addella is definitely a fun office environment where everyone is very motivated, excited, and young. A lot of supportive people and Luc was the most inspiring person I've ever met. If you work here you will pick up some good advice on how to do sales successfully and also become much more outgoing.

Cons

You will be doing door-to-door sales (if you do sales and not HR etc). This will never be told to you explicitly or during your first interview. Your pay is commission for what you can sell. You spend the entire day in your territory walking to businesses and giving them an exact sales pitch. You can't deviate from the pitch. You will spend lots of time practising this pitch. There is an almost cult-like vibe there, such that no one can ever be negative and the firm sells you this idea that if you work yourself to the bone you will get rich. This does happen from a very, very small minority of people, but for most, it won't happen. "First one to the field, first one to get money!" Everyone will say their big dream in life is to own an island or party in Ibiza once Addella gets them rich, but it won't happen. CBC Marketplace did an expose on a place called Mox1 Business Solutions; a similar direct marketing firm. Also search Slave Circle on Youtube; this will give you an exact idea of what this Cydcor operation is. This is very hard work and you will probably quit after a month or two.

Pros

First impression of the company was that the management team is very inspired and supportive, and that the employees are all young, intelligent, and ambitious individuals. Work environment is super upbeat so it made coming into work everyday exhilarating. Work day consists of morning meetings, campaign meetings, leadership workshops, visiting prospective clients and follow up meetings with existing clients, followed with an end-of-the-day wrap up at the office. My colleagues were all phenomenal, always pushing me be better, aspire to more, and making time to help each other grow and develop as a unit.

Cons

Though the benefits of working here are definitely plenty, there are definitely a lot of work to be done. One of the first things I learned while being here was that everyone has ambition, everyone has goals and dreams. The difference between those who attain their goals, and those who do not, are the amount that they are willing to sacrifice in order to do so. The work hours are long IF you truly wish to get ahead, however nothing extracurricular is mandatory. The nature of the work is also not a walk in the park, but that's precisely the part of the role that builds a host of skills, resilience, and a relentless attitude.
