Pros

- If you are ambitious and have drive, you can gain a lot of great experience, especially for newer grads. However, it is not something that will necessarily just be provided or handed to you. You have to work for it. - There is a new emphasis on DEI, which is a step in the right direction. However outside of hearing the executive team telling us it is being worked on, nothing really has changed or been updated. - Some leaders are becoming more open to new ideas and ways of thinking, but most are reluctant to tackle any of the larger issues that are holding the company back. It seems 2020 is pushing many leaders to re-think some of their long-held beliefs, but it will be more interesting to see if any changes actually happen

Cons

We want to be a billion-dollar company, but lack some basic infrastructure and resources to operate at that level. I think the biggest reason these structures are not being built out is that Addison struggles to shed its "start-up, run your own desk" mindset. The majority of senior leadership has been with the company for many years, which is a positive, but there is a reluctance to adopt processes from another vertical or another brand because we feel "our business is so unique", while there are intricacies, at the end of the day we are all in staffing. The more we keep siloing our groups, the more difficult it becomes to build an effective enterprise. Additionally, as I mentioned above, I feel leadership shys away from addressing some larger issues. Offering more minority celebrated holidays as floater holidays is not addressing the lack of diversity in almost every office. Asking people to come in the office because a vaccine is ready, but not widely available, is not making employees feel like you care about their overall well-being. I get we can not expect fingers to be snapped and every issue to be resolved, but it seems at times leadership uses the right words to appease employees but lacks follow up. While I am not expecting Addison to be perfect in every area, I think if we really want to live our People First mindset it is important leaders keep all of their people in mind when making decisions.

First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to share your experience and provide feedback. The events of last year have allowed us to identify new areas of opportunity to strategize and improve the way we work together to create a culture that develops high potential employees and an environment that is accepting and welcoming of everyone. Addison has had tremendous growth, even just over the last several years. And with that, growing pains are to be expected. We’re continuously working to improve the overall success of the company, including looking at the resources we have available to ensure employees, clients, and candidates are well supported. To do it right takes time and care, and we are confident we can evolve in this area. We’re glad you believe our initiatives around DEI are a step in the right direction, as diversity, equality, and inclusion is our top priority at Addison. Although we have much to learn and improve upon, we have already made big strides, such as our campus recruiting efforts and investments in DEI-related training. We know the importance of communication, especially around this topic, and are ramping up our efforts on that front by leveraging our various internal tools and platforms to keep employees informed on a regular basis.

Pros

Addison Group is a wonderful organization with incredible support from within, opportunities to grow, and great people to work with. I never expected to spend 4+ years of a career here starting out, - but I see a lot more time here in my future!

Cons

The workload can be demanding based on how successful you'd like it to be -- which is not a bad thing at all but the sky's the limit if you're willing to put in the work.
