Pros
Meaningful work that directly improves members’ health, especially in diabetes, CKD, hypertension, and heart disease. Strong autonomy as an RD; I can assess, educate, and intervene without micromanagement. Supportive, collaborative team culture with case managers and care coordinators. Flexible scheduling and remote‑friendly environment that allows for real work–life balance. Opportunities to create education materials, workflows, and population‑level health resources. Ability to build real relationships with members and see long‑term progress. Clear documentation standards and workflows that make charting efficient. Diverse caseload that keeps clinical skills sharp (CKD, CHF, food insecurity, weight management, etc.). Mission‑driven organization that prioritizes whole‑person care and health equity.
Cons
Outlook, Teams, and Salesforce don’t always sync calendars correctly, which can cause occasional scheduling confusion. Interpreter scheduling can sometimes be inconsistent, leading to last‑minute adjustments, but the team of interpreters are amazing and always happy to help last minute and accommodate people when mix ups happen.
