Pros

The company is fairly relaxed and you are not permanently micromanaged, most of the people in the company are easy to get along with and enjoy socialising outside of work too. The projects that you work on can be great and very exciting when there is a lot of budget involved, They try to allow people from all levels to involved with these projects which is a great way of extending your skills. The promotion process is clearly mapped out, with tasks to complete along with a work review/ competency review to ensure you meet the required standards. Monthly 1:1 meetings with your team leader along with monthly department meetings. Annual corporate day out, Christmas meal & AGM. Recently a change for growth project has taken place, whilst the meetings are wayyyy longer than they need to be this has now allowed transparency to what senior managers are working on... Also learnt to be one with my inner flea. Overall the atmosphere in the office is welcoming which is great when starting at adtrak as everyone will go out of their way to help you. Team leaders are very easy to approach to ask for assistance and advice, although it is encouraged to also ask other members of your team. Heads of departments are great when you can approach them, but they are incredibly busy most of the time. Overall I really enjoyed my time at adtrak and would happily return in the future providing I would be considered if such circumstances happened. Before I left it looked like the company was trying to make positive changes, things are looking really exciting there.

Cons

Change for growth process - seemed like it was a secondary option & the new usa company was taking priority. AGM - reported not as much profit as hoped, yet the company flew account managers across the usa for meetings, this should have been part of adtraks report instead the new companies expenses. Open office, as much as I enjoy talking to people sometimes and open office can be incredibly distracting. Heads of departments have too much work on so they are usually in meetings or incredibly busy. The internal CRM system is not the best. Coffee machine was removed - gutted.

Pros

Adtrak is generally a welcoming and friendly place to work, with excellent individuals across the organisation. There are people who care about doing good work and supporting their colleagues, which helps make the day-to-day environment more manageable.

Cons

The structure of the development teams and the way work is allocated. Tasks can feel randomly assigned, which often makes straightforward work more difficult than it needs to be. Project briefs are light on detail, leaving developers to track down assets, copy, domain details, hosting information, and other essentials before any meaningful work can begin. There is a "set it and forget it" attitude towards website builds, likely due to the fact there are no processes in place for ongoing website maintenance and security. This is the first time I've witnessed such a blatant disregard for security processes in nearly 10 years. Zero visible accountability when senior development staff failed to follow the same processes they expected others to work within. That creates a difficult dynamic for developers who are being told to follow standards that are not applied consistently. Overall, it is not a terrible place to work, if you are able to switch off from the noise and focus on the task in front of you. However, there are obvious operational and technical shortfalls that make the developer experience frustrating.
