Pros

Clinical research is fascinating and you learn a lot about different medical conditions and new medications that are advancing medicine. There are also some great people that work there.

Cons

There is little to no culture - employees are not treated very well and the overall moral is pretty low. You are not allowed to take time without pay - even if you are sick. You are forced to use vacation time, or come in sick. There have been emails sent out saying if you have no vacation time and get sick and do not come to work, you risk getting fired. This seems contradictory when they say ACR is like a family and they look out for one another. Just a lot of hypocrisy. Also be prepared to be on the phone all day and have little interaction with other employees.

Pros

You get to work with great investigators. Kirstein (if she's still around), Rizzardi, and King are all experienced investigators and good teachers. Investigator access is phenomenal. As a coordinator, having the investigator a few steps away is a great opportunity for education and growth. Investigators, experienced coordinators, and the QC team will help you learn how clinical research is and should be conducted (hint...more stringent than clinical practice).

Cons

The benefits package was of no help to me. When I left I didn't see any room for career advancement (there were goals/projections for that to change in the near future). There are some in the corporation with duplicitous tendencies that make it difficult to be open and honest.
