Pros
Case management is challenging but also rewarding. Management is very supportive and involved.
Cons
Case management is not for everyone. It can be very busy and you need to work hard. Must be able to multi-task and work independently but ask questions when needed.
The training for the position of case manager/rehabilitation specialist is rigorous and thorough. While much of my work was remote, I never felt that I couldn't get a question answered within minutes. I had excellent support and communication with my direct supervisor and team.
Cons
Much of the work is remote, which can be difficult if you are not used to working at home/alone. There is a good deal of driving which is also solitary and isolating.
