Wonderful, respectful, understanding people at all levels, a company culture that is professional yet laid back. Approachable management. A fun company culture which I go into more detail about below.
Cons
Work will always be on your mind. There's really no way to avoid taking it home, either actually doing so or it just feeling like you have to plan your day before you get there. There was a recent set of layoffs, evidently this has happened before. It's clear it's going to happen again. To me, this seems like a pattern where instead of managing, they're just staffing up to the point of breaking, then noticing it's a problem afterwards. If you're on the tail end of a hiring spree, know that you're going to be gone soon. This is especially hard because the company culture promotes a closeness I've not seen in other workplaces. You'll do a lot together for fun (movies, cookouts, parties, trips to theme parks) as a company, and soon these people start to feel like more than just co-workers. Then, you'll suddenly be cut off from them, and they from you. Keep that in mind. Loyalty at Advent is a planned system that only benefits the company, will not be reciprocated even though Advent expects complete loyalty from you.
