Pros

If you are considering Advent for any reason, please read the reviews first. The facade is real and it's powerful. As many have mentioned, the projects are cool and look great in a portfolio. Leadership is charismatic and you can easily fall under the spell as I did.

Cons

Sadly, being a dream job on paper doesn't equate to the same thing in real life. It all depends on what your personal desires are for an employer. My desires were for a place where hard work leads to growth and opportunity, a place where trust and loyalty are of the utmost importance, a place where leadership walks-the-walk not just talks, a place with some semblance of work-life balance, a place I could be invested and not just be a cog in the wheel of someone else's machine. If these things are also important to you, go elsewhere. Even in the best of times at the company, I would still frequently tell my spouse that I've never worked anywhere where I thought every day could be my last day. It's a volatile environment at best. Leadership will continue to say what they are supposed to say, but the many layoffs or restructurings or whatever the term of the day is show a clear lack of direction and proper management of the company from the top. Granted it is a privately owned company and can be run however the creators want, but as a potential employee, you need to understand this will make your life difficult. I could reiterate all of the cons made in previous reviews, but I recommend reading them because they are all accurate. I personally know many of the reviewers here and they are not (as suggested) young, inexperienced workers. They are seasoned professionals tired of being taken advantage of so that others profit. I have also seen the comment a few times from leadership that reviewers should've taken complaints to their supervisors while employed and I can speak for myself and at least a few others that many of these complaints were brought to leadership's attention on multiple occasions. True, it would have been difficult to get time with the CEO to say, "I believe you aren't the good person I thought you were and I wish you would treat people better" while still needing a paycheck. Leadership only wants to hear "yes, I think that's a great idea" and thus have surrounded themselves will people who will tell them that no matter what. I also admit that the coolness of the projects kept me going long after I realized the troubles of the company and the falsehoods of leadership. If you are looking for a short-term job to build a resume, this might be an alright place for you. Just know what you are getting into and make an informed decision.
