Pros

The company hires talented, passionate, and capable women who are supportive teammates and enjoyable to work with Team members (including managers) are dedicated and genuinely care about AGC’s mission and creating great travel experiences

Cons

Benefits and Employee Support • Employee hours and benefits are often cut without notice. Part-time employees will soon outweigh full-time employees • Employees are made to feel discouraged from using sick time, with the expectation to attend meetings or “push through” illness  • There is no reliable HR support Leadership and Management • The CEO has limited knowledge and experience in tourism and guiding • Employees are occasionally asked for feedback, but their concerns are not received openly, which discourages participation and honesty • Team goals are often unrealistic and unattainable  • Feeling undervalued, micromanaged, and unfairly criticized became “normal” • CEO takes advantage of enthusiastic professionals in the industry. Pay is very low with no room for growth Operations and Workplace Culture • Decisions to cancel trips are often rash, and cause staff to manage many difficult vendor conversations • The CEO drags her feet on vendor payments, creating additional work for staff and strain on vendor relationships • Employee turnover is extremely high, causing major stress on remaining employees • The tracking software is overly strict and invasive, creating an environment where dedicated employees are frequently criticized despite performing their jobs effectively. The system does not accurately capture the full scope of employees' responsibilities, leading staff to spend time catering to software metrics instead of completing higher-value work, which ultimately hurts productivity.

Pros

- You'll work alongside an incredibly passionate team of like-minded people who genuinely care about the mission and supporting one another. - The staff and guides are the strongest part of the company.

Cons

- The company suffers from inconsistent leadership and excessive micromanagement from the CEO. - Time off is heavily scrutinized and may be referenced during performance discussions, creating pressure around using earned benefits. - The CEO frequently changes priorities, trip offerings, and organizational structures, often resulting in wasted work, confusion, and frustration for all parties. - Accountability is often pushed downward, while constructive feedback and difficult conversations are delegated to others. - Despite being a travel company, there is a strong emphasis on being vigilantly at your computer. - Benefits are below average, and employees are expected to keep pace with AI-driven productivity standards that can feel unrealistic. The company also relies on employee monitoring software that captures screenshots throughout the workday, contributing to a culture of distrust. - There is significant turnover, limited receptiveness to feedback, and a tendency to shift blame when accountability is necessary.
