Pros
My experience at AFAR was overall a very good one. There's a lot of opportunity to contribute ideas & experience various parts of media if you want to. There is a good company culture, down to earth executives, flexible schedule, work from anywhere policy. I found it to be a very collaborative environment across departments. I also went through some personal crises during my time here and received unmatched support from my manager and higher ups, which I think says a lot about how much AFAR cares about its employees on a personal level. Plus, unlimited PTO
Cons
I ultimately left due to lack of benefits- no 401k match, they removed the travel stipend with no foreseeable future of it coming back, full remote work environment with no WFH stipend, somewhat difficult to get a raise. Unlimited PTO (with no minimum) also creates an imbalance where some of the employees take a ton of time, and others don't take very much at all.
