Pros

They provide a great product which is often a saving grace to people during what is possibly one of the most difficult times of their lives and being part of the team that makes it happen is a good feeling.

Cons

Customer service is supposedly the goal, yet that focus is lost with the emphasis on taking more and more calls and they don't take into consideration the number of policies touched per call (if an an insurance agent for Aflac calls you frequently look at numerous accounts and policies on that call which naturally means it is going to take longer and still they don't allocate for that) which unfairly reflects on the stats. It makes it stressful being constantly monitored instead of trusting the agents to be the resourceful, customer service driven people that they are.

Pros

Freedom to be your own boss, trips, bonuses, renewable income (instead of one time commission), career instead of just a job. FORTUNE 500 and a World's most Ethical Company. Great training (at least here in Wyoming) and a family mentality. Great family/work balance.

Cons

No base pay, can be a slow start at first, you have to be very organized and self-driven, have to be licensed in life and health to sell insurance (but my management help with the process).
