I’d keep the “illegal” piece as “appeared retaliatory / potentially unlawful” unless you are filing with an agency or have counsel. Here’s the sharper version: Beware. This company does not pay out PTO and does not make that clear to employees. The Glassdoor reviews are fake. They do not reflect the actual employee experience. Anyone making over $150k is expected to do mandatory BD work after client hours, on top of their regular client work. I personally experienced nonstop proposal work while also being expected to manage client delivery, staffing, and operational issues that the company itself failed to properly support. Most of the company is run out of India, including HR. HR is unresponsive, controlled by management, and makes serious mistakes with pay, benefits, and 401(k)-related issues. Employees cannot get basic answers or access to support when it matters. The benefits are extremely weak. The pay is not worth the stress, workload, or lack of professionalism. As a director, I observed serious mismanagement, unrealistic proposal promises, staffing problems, and delivery issues that created complaints from the government. Instead of fixing the actual company-level problems, leadership pointed blame downward as a quick solution. This company operates like a body shop when things go wrong. Leadership constantly overpromises and misrepresents what is actually happening. Do not rely on what they say verbally or even in writing. I was already planning to resign and had a designated resignation date. The executive team encouraged me to stay, then appeared to use that time to position a same-day termination attempt in order to better serve their client narrative. In my opinion, that was dishonest, retaliatory, and potentially unlawful. The company also submits unrealistic low bids and questionable proposals to the government. The delivery promises do not match the actual capability. Overall, this is not a serious or trustworthy company. Not worth the pay. Not worth the time. Beware. Potential fraud and retaliation claims were discussed hence my departure.
