Pros

Great experience in having the ability to try 3 different roles with 1 abroad. Nice coworkers. International setting. Lot of sites around the world.

Cons

CDPs - graduates are treated like a cheap force, even after three years they are looked at like on a student. After 3 years, they are not able to offer any role. Lot of CDPs were made to leave the company because of this. Toxic behaviour in senior management, lot of politics. Many time great managers were made to leave and toxic ones remained. Over-burdening of people on the sites - not enough resources. Blocking literally every site on the internet making it sometimes difficult to work, ridiculous IT policy.

Pros

I learned a lot from the teams I worked with over my tenure. If I was particularly interested in learning about certain parts of the business, I was often allowed to tackle those challenges. Mentors were very helpful and encouraging. I enjoyed the people I worked with and they always tried to open doors into other parts of the company I was interested in.

Cons

If you want to be doing mostly pure mechanical design work, there is less of that available at Air Products. Lots of opportunities for operations, project management, and EPC roles for mechanical engineers, and pressure vessel work from my perspective. In the initial round of placements, you get matched to one team (you can join or not) — it was not exactly my cup of tea from a day to day work perspective. Second round, I was able to join a team where I absolutely loved doing the day to day work.
