Pros

As an employee of 8 years, I did gain a lot of experience on corporate business practices and knowledge on how to conduct myself as a business professional. I can use and build on that acquired skill where ever I go in the future. Aires does have high standards for conducting talent acquisition. For this reason, I did feel like I worked with the brightest and best co-workers (with the exception of upper management). My co-workers were the driving force behind my longevity. I stayed much longer than I should have with hopes that changes for the better were on the horizon. Not only is Aires a financially sound company, but Aires Technology is superior so a huge kudos goes out to all members of the IT department both past and present. Additionally, not many employees had the opportunity that I had (because I was employed when the company size was still small) to get to know the president on a more personal level. He is a wonderful person who is a caring human being. I wish his job duties as president would not have pulled him away from being involved and present with the daily operations. His talent as a “mover and shaker” and motivator of people was better utilized when he was involved with operations. I remember one summer when he rolled up his sleeves and moved himself out on the floor to help during our summer peak season. He found ways that day to make much needed improvements and changes. I am not sure he was aware that his daily presence and involvement was greatly missed or needed. The management in place now is comprised of toxic individuals who don’t have that same level of humanity. They are torn between supporting the employees they manage and the company’s relentless push to be bigger and better at all cost. Even at the expense of their own employees health both physical and emotional. They only care about securing and keeping their roles and meeting their benchmarks.

Cons

Everything else - High level stress, long work hours, no work/life balance, unrealistic expectations and unobtainable goals, people promoted to supervisory roles with no training or experience, employee retention rate is very low causing people to make financially costly errors due to lack of industry knowledge and experience, pay is not in line with the level of professionalism this job requires or industry standards, client service managers do not support their teams and use them as scape-goats when something goes wrong

Pros

The good truly outweighs the bad. They are pretty flexible to make sure you have a good work/ life balance. Summers are busy, but that's expected in this industry. If are looking to just ride a clock Monday- Friday 8-5pm then this is not the place for you. You stay busy. I'm not aware of them ever having a layoff, so that speaks volumes about leadership.

Cons

I wish the heath insurance package was better/ cheaper and they provided tuition assistance, but other that's all I can think of. I also wish we received pay increases were more in line with inflation, but at least we received one.

Pros

- Hybrid work culture - There were some genuine good people I worked with here

Cons

Worst IT department I have ever worked at. Weak leadership that flat out ignored concerns that were brought up and only sought to place blame instead of correcting problems when something went wrong that they were warned about multiple times. This contributed to their mindset of making every little thing "urgent" - even when it wasn't, or when other employees didn't follow proper procedures they wanted it done anyway. Toxic environment with extremely poor communication and dishonesty. Micromanagers who lied and manipulated information, constantly covering up their incompetence and inability to manage others - with an extreme lack of accountability and integrity. Would tell people to get certifications and then never empower or promote employees who got them. Just got shoveled more work onto their plates without proper training on an already small staff while they never lifted a finger to help out or defend their teams when needed. Refused to enforce established policies and instead bowed down to other managers/directors who had no business sticking their nose in IT department operations - most of whom had subordinates who could barely use a computer correctly or follow directions, then cried like a toddler until they got their way.
