Pros
Airgas has many great qualities as a large as they are. As an AM I had so many tools to become successful, and had a great team to facilitate closing deals. A work life balance was also very strong as well with being remote. I recommend for someone coming into their career to learn the business and how to deal with multiple items on the ticket to handle at once. Great opportunity to further education with online schooling at 0% out of pocket cost.
Cons
Management does not understand nor do they work in the field. Management makes it harder to sell with fees and surcharges that they implement. Has large as Airgas is, getting product is not always easy. The pricing compared to the local competition is much higher which makes it harder to sell even with providing excellent service. The pay plan is awful!!! Should go back to the 80/20 plan because no company should ever “front” commission on the first paycheck and then take it back on the 2nd check if 100% quota was not obtained…pay should be base every check and if quota is hit then commission is applied.
