Pros

Some team mates, opportunities for learning and advancement

Cons

A deeply ingrained toxic culture overseen by incompetent senior managers. Airservices turns over staff quickly, their attrition rate is terrible. The workplace culture is so toxic it was recently forced to conduct an independent review. Biggest issue is incompetent senior managers who bully and harass employees to avoid the ‘spot light’ being on them. The Airservices management have weaponised the public service ‘code of conduct’ investigations and use them for even the most basic of matters. These investigations assume you are guilty and work backwards. It’s all designed to intimidate and bully the workforce so everyone keeps their heads down and mouths shut. I was there for 10 years and it counted for nothing. I wouldn’t strongly recommend people avoid Airservices as an employer and not be lured in by the above average salaries offered.

Pros

Pay well above market. Not a bad commute Access to onsite gyms and childcare Great worklife balance

Cons

Nepotism and infighting are rife, unbelievably toxic culture Nearly every function is critically under-resourced, but as management have no understanding of the work that needs to be done, deadlines are set that are totally unachievable Incompetent senior management that have absolutely no idea what they are doing, nor who know how to communicate with their staff. I report to a manager that has absolutely no expertise in the field he represents. Empowered short term contractors, dis-empowered mid level management has led to utter chaos
