Pros
-Excellent work/life balance, even with the busy annual enrollment season (Oct-Jan). -your pto will basically always be approved and you can take true vacations where you never check your email (people and places are more important than things) -minimal unnecessary/unproductive/waste of time meetings for tech roles. I've heard the opposite for operations/client facing roles. -100% virtual roles allow you to work from home. This plus work/life balance is why the majority of people stay here period! The traffic in SoCal is so horrendous it is absolutely glorious working from home! By not sitting in the parking lot freeways your stress level decreases so much. I spend about 1/3 the amount on gas I used to with a daily commute, I save almost 2 hours a day by not having to commute and I have so much more energy!
Cons
-Mediocre/almost stagnant pay with mediocre pay increases but this is universally understood and accepted. It is the price you pay for a great work/life balance and ability to work from home. People who want a high pay/high stress/horrible commute/50% plus travel job will leave within 2 years tops. There's more to life than money especially if you've recently adopted a minimalist lifestyle. -health insurance has deteriorated over the past 4 years but if you use Kaiser it's not bad
