Operations Manager (trainee) - Operations Manager All My Sons Moving & Storage Employee Review

Pros

Drivers and Movers are hard workers (for the most part). The two Chris bosses are good guys but aren't aware of the real issues of their poor trainers on the team. -it's not hard work and it's fun work -great experience builder and challenging (in a good way) at times to close deals with the sales manager -helping customers get the stress of moving squared away is rewarding

Cons

The "training program" for new Ops Mgrs is basically a test of endurance in Dallas, Tx. They require you to start at 6am, and you're lucky to be done by 8pm each night. Weekends are required as well. Training pay is adequate and temp housing is satisfactory (extended stay). I was promised Cleveland or Phoenix, but that changed 3 times. I was promised 3-4 weeks in Dallas (max), and that turned into 6 weeks with no light at the end of the tunnel. I tried to talk to Chris G about it, but he saw this as weakness. I walked out when they decided to send me to San Antonio instead of Cleveland (home) or Phoenix (my location of preference). A colossal waste of time, but it was a great learning lesson.

Pros

Do you have paychecks or pay pretty fast? After they let, they have posted online

Cons

It's not the environment for an older working individual. The management is younger. The culture is not very versatile. There are no minorities in management
