Terrible Experience - Instructor All-Star Baseball Academy Employee Review

1) The pay. Instructors start at $15 an hour, meanwhile an hour lesson is $110. The margin of revenue to instructor pay is insane. It works since their business is so slow and low foot traffic and they hire inexperienced instructors. 2) Unrealistic expectations. They expect instructors, once again making $15 an hour, to make sales calls, coach, do lessons, retain clients, etc. The issue is that is not want any instructor signed up for. Instructors get lots of blame but also because of lack of training. 3) Job titles. The best position to have is the assistant manager. You do the same roles as an instructor but with some extra admin work. As the assistant manager, you would not get into the same microscope as the manager or instructors. Managers are berated and put through so much worse for much less pay. 4) Burnout. Since there basically is no days off, instructors and managers get burnt out within six months. There are no incentives to land sales or produce lessons which leads to lack of motivation. 5) Coaching. The ASBA are legit the worst teams I have ever seen. If you enjoy coaching, you will have limited resources, limited control, and dealing with the worst of the worst players. Only people who signs up for their teams are the little Jimmys who could not make the other seven teams in town. 6) Upper Management. The Upper Management at ASBA is Corporate America. They are the worst, inconsistent people I have ever met. They have no feel of what it is like to run or be in a facility. A bunch of old heads who haven't done facility work in 10-15 years, which is why other facilities are growing faster than ASBA. 7) Gear. ASBA has decent gear but all you get is some yellow ASBA t-shirt that cost $2 to make. If you want gear, you get a 10% off code for their online store. Legit laughable how cheap they are but charge $110 a lesson.
