Pay. The starting wage for new flight attendants is low. Unless you have a second job or are in a situation that you are not the main bread winner of the family, the pay is low. Before accepting a position, consider if your financial responsibilities can be met just by the GUARANTEED flight hours. There is the possibility of picking up more hours, but that should be considered the exception not the rule. Not all bases will have extra hours to pick up, so it’s important to make sure you are prepared for the reality of first couple year’s pay scale.
