Pros

Some of the other people i met were nice I suppose.

Cons

This is an absolutely awful company to work for. Unfortunately this is reflective on how workers compensation as a whole is to work in. Worker’s compensation has a terrible reputation for a very good reason. EML and GB are not much better. The excessive and unmanageable workload, offensivly low pay, the expectation that you do unpaid overtime (this is even written in your contract), abusive employers and total lack of support from management. I worked in both the Melbourne and Geelong offices and the male manager of the Geelong and Melbourne teams is terrible and actively pushed for higher workloads for staff even though staff repeatedly advised they were overwhelmed. Staff advised management several times that the workload was excessive however management did nothing to support staff, instead just gave them more work to do. There is a very high turn over rate at this company because of the unmanageable workload and lack of support. If you do choose to work at Allianz just be aware that you will be taking a minimum of 70 calls a day and still be expected to reply to endless emails, produce a high volume of file notes, reports, case conferences for both Allianz and Worksafe, pay comp and invoices, and also be expected to handle and receive queries for other clients not a part of your portfolio. It’s essentially a call centre role. Stay far far away. There’s a good reason why they are constantly hiring new case managers - the high turnover rate speaks for itself.

Pros

Good benefits, hybrid work arrangement is flexible (you can choose your 3 days in office)

Cons

Tenure and friendship is valued more than actual skillsets. Many people in Ops have no formal college education or true technical skills, and have been complacent in the dept for 10+ years. This leads to inefficient and stale processes that are reluctant to change. The culture is extremely passive aggressive and long-tenured employees are not welcoming to new hires from outside of the organization. People will go out of their way to sabotage opportunities for those offering new perspectives with greater value add. This causes forced interactions with low value collaboration. Many in analytical roles do not even understand basic Microsoft Office skills, Excel functions, V/XLOOKUPS, etc. and data is often reviewed manually per line item… This company is run like a low budget mom and pop shop where inefficient and backwards practices are toxically in circulation.
