Good salary, lots of opportunity for extra shifts and OT, excellent and proficient coworkers. High level of union support. Prestigious Magnet facility. Regular management engagement via staff meetings and email.
Cons
Patient care areas need updating. Workspace and break room space shortages. Some building security concerns in this very large urban/inner-city hospital setting. Very low level of managerial support for nursing from the organization — education department is worthless, no direction regarding career advancement. Increasingly profit driven. Labor-management issues since the 6 week nursing strike.
