Pros

Social outing is amazing, it’s the location in the center of Cambridge is convenient because the farm market is just outside the company building with multiple discounts for the employees and contractors.

Cons

One of the biggest challenges for me was the culture within the Analytical Development in Cambridge. I saw the toxic environment firsthand , where some long-tenured employees who have been with the company since its early days would yell at contractors over relatively minor issues, such as scheduling or administrative tasks. As a new employee, it was uncomfortable to witness and caused me to believe this behavior is tolerated so I left after one year. In my previous roles, I had never seen full-time employees communicate with contractors in an bad manner. I believe the AD managers and long tenure employees would need to be retrained on expectations around professionalism, respectful communication, and constructive feedback. Regardless of title or employment status, because then everyone will be happy to work at AD as they get treated with respect.
