Pros

-robust training from sales enablement team -good office culture -sales development leadership (SDR managers & directors) are invested in their SDRs

Cons

SDRs that have mastered the role and proven themselves ready for promotion have nowhere to go and are undervalued-- we can go "above and beyond" expectations all we want and receive no recognition or opportunity for career advancement. There aren't enough AE, management, etc roles available for us to advance into based on the needs of the business, but leadership isn't being transparent about this. The interview process for an internal promotion is time consuming, stressful, grueling, and takes away from our ability to perform our regular jobs, hurting our numbers. The lack of transparency from management about timing and availability of promotions is unacceptable. It's a bad look for them to appear so disorganized, unaligned, and constantly change their story about when and where in the business we can expect spots to be available. I don't feel as though sales leadership (I want to be clear, NOT sales DEVELOPMENT leadership, but AE and corp/FS sales leadership) is invested in the SDRs' career growth, and sales development leadership unfortunately bears the brunt of complaints and confusion, when in reality they're just the messenger that gets shot. Sales leadership needs to get it together and go "all in" and commit to helping SDRs advance in their careers, or have enough respect to say that it's not a priority for the business so we can look for more promising opportunities elsewhere.

Pros

Flexibility (full autonomy over schedule and location), office perks, tons of resources for self development

Cons

Increasingly toxic and cutthroat culture. Pay is below market rate. Quality appears to be less of a leadership priority and there is extreme inconsistency in terms of internal talent. Lots of closed-door conversations happening by leadership. No feasible upward mobility if you didn't start at the right time a few years ago.
