Pros

Mostly nice colleagues - mostly young employees which creates a fun atmosphere. Monthly social events. Good place if you do not know what to do after uni.

Cons

Given most employees are straight out from University some managers lack leadership experience. They tend to address other employees in a harsh tone and get stressed given the fast paced work environment. This creates frustrations in the teams and at times an unpleasant work environment. I experienced that the tone and communication within the company was negative and non-constructive. For example when a new employee made an honest mistake, the employee got told off in a very patronising and strict way. All the negative things was repeated 5-6 times making the new employee and the rest of us in the meeting feeling uncomfortable. Nothing constructive. AlphaSights promotes an open and honest culture with diversity but micromanages you and tries to make you fit into their ideal employee box. When I was newly employee my manager encouraged me to take 10min coffee-breaks with colleagues from other departments to socialise but my manager then questioned me for scheduling a 10min coffee-break and wanted to know in detail why this meeting was arranged and the purpose of it, even though she encouraged me to schedule these meetings in the first place . They are big on feedback which can be good, however, I experienced that the feedback was very personal depended not giving space for individuals to be themselves. There was a lack of support from the manager if help was needed, and support was only if it made them look good. In my team my colleagues often talked negatively about individuals from other teams, which created a negative atmosphere ( laughing and talking behind their back). Not a healthy culture in my opinion. Managers talk everyday about how lucky employees are at working at AS, never mentioning anything that does not work, which makes it difficult for employees to actually raise their voice about negative experiences at the company. Very long working hours with overtime most days and no flexibility. If you put many hours at the company it seems like they see you as more ambitious compared to if you work efficiently. Pay might be good on paper, but compared to hours. Not so much. I cannot speak for the other departments, but I would not recommend the job I had. Either you really like it or then you don't like it at all. Never experienced that many people leaving within working there for 6 months.

Thank you for taking the time to leave an honest review and we're sorry you have not had an ideal experience with us. One of our values is results-orientation, and we strongly believe in taking ownership early on. This is why we hire young managers and train them to focus their teams on achieving concrete goals. Nevertheless, we always urge any employee at AlphaSights to speak up if they are experiencing negativity from their manager by reaching out to their VP or the HR team. Wishing you the very best with your future employment. - The AlphaSights Team

Pros

AlphaSights has an incredible culture and a highly supportive environment. I recently celebrated four years with the firm, and I've truly enjoyed the combination of high support and high performance. I have a great deal of autonomy in my role, work alongside an exceptional team, and continue to learn and grow every day. I'm so grateful that I started my career at AlphaSights.

Cons

I've truly enjoyed my time. N/a

Pros

Rapid Progression & Recognition: Performance is directly rewarded here. If you hit your goals and show drive, the path to promotion and career growth is transparent and fast. Strong Team Culture: The team energy is fantastic. Everyone is highly collaborative, supportive, and commercially minded, which makes for a great working environment. High Autonomy: From day one, you are given real ownership over your projects (like leading recruitment events, managing candidates, and driving partnerships), allowing you to grow your commercial skills rapidly.

Cons

High Velocity & Pressure: The work is very fast-paced with strict timelines and high-volume expectations. It is not a place where you can coast, and you need to be comfortable working under commercial pressure. Resilience is Key: Sourcing and recruiting require a great deal of resilience. You have to be comfortable with rejection and persistent in finding creative solutions to hit your targets.
