The #1 reason to work at AltSchool is the compelling mission of radically innovating the entire K-8 education experience from the ground up. We're not only building tools for use in classrooms, but also completely rethinking how to open, run and manage schools, which is a juicy challenge for anyone who loves solving complex, meaningful problems. Colleagues here are among the best and brightest — they like to hire super senior, accomplished people and unleash them against enormously complex problems. Everyone I've worked with has been impressive both in their previous positions/companies, and in their ability to contribute lots of great work/insights at high levels.
Cons
The office environment is super challenging for an introvert — too many people crammed into a small space, no places to sit and think quietly, constant interruptions.
