Myself, having no sales experience, being thrown out into the field was intimidating. The first few weeks were overwhelming and the expectations of the job (from training) were not entirely realistic. I felt alone for the first few weeks until I started to make connections with surrounding territory managers. Training, imo, was helpful because I was working off of no experience. It seems people out in the field get a sense of the “sales career” and take that information and move on to other companies. That being said, there is a high turnover rate. Not many people stay for more than 2-3 years. BUT a pro from this is there is so much growth in the company to grow and develop your career within the company itself.
