Too focused on appearances - Anonymous employee Alumni Ventures Employee Review

The executive team spent a lot of time doing internal PR to make the company seem like it was something it was not. I would describe the company as fake and lacking any sort of racial diversity. I was pushed to think about my career goals and how I wanted to grow with the company, just to be laid off after less than a year of working there. I was paid 20% under market, which I didn't find out until I left, and was sold "equity in the company" as a part of my salary. I have no idea when I will be able to cash out said equity and I was cut right before I was supposed to receive my second bonus. Don't be fooled by the facade this company creates and always keep your ears peeled.
