Pros
AmEditor hires PhDs to edit scientific manuscripts from around the world. They pay a very competitive price per manuscript and give ample time for turnaround on the edits so that your best work can be done. They have a dedicated staff of administrative assistants that facilitate communication with clients. You are able to choose how many assignments you accept and there is room to grow and make more income by taking on more challenging assignments.
Cons
I have worked for AmEditor now for almost two years and I have no real complaints. The reality of being a contract editor, with another full time job, is that you work weekends and nights which may be a negative factor for some people, though I don't mind it.
