Pros
Salary arrives on time usually, the PhD product can be great if it was not led by nincompoops
Cons
The company suffers from deeply ineffective leadership, particularly at the operations and program-management levels. (specifically two nincompoops) These two program managers/ops lead appear to lack the experience required to lead teams but compensate through excessive micromanagement, constant pressure, and a culture of blame-shifting. Accountability flows downward while credit flows upward. Most positive reviews were written after the company instructed people too. In reality, everyone hates everything about this company.
Employee burnout is treated as a staffing issue rather than a management failure, leading many capable people to leave. Instead of helping collaboration, the environment encourages politics, finger-pointing, and back-channel complaints. Trust between teams is low, morale is poor, and employees often feel unsupported.
The most frustrating part is that these problems are neither hidden nor isolated. The toxic culture has become normalized, while senior leadership appears either unaware of it or unwilling to address it. Until management focuses on building competent leaders rather than creating layers of control, employee retention and morale will continue to suffer.
