Upper management is full of people who have worked with the company since the beginning of the company. Because they have been with the company from the beginning or shortly thereafter, the leadership in corporate is made up of people who have been promoted beyond their skills based on seniority and not competency. They have multiple family members working for the company who are favorites and are untouchable. They constantly hire friends in leadership and corporate positions. Favoritism and nepotism are common and deeply embedded in the culture. It is a toxic culture and they do not care about practicing good medicine, they only care about money. They tell selling DVM’s that they will have autonomy and still be able to practice the way they like but it is a lie.
