Pros

- The People (Amica has an eye for talent/the right people) - Core Values (We truly do care about our customers and have the JD Powers awards to prove it!) - Benefits (401K, health insurance, profit-sharing, lots of resources, including mental health care, legal services, employee discounts) - Open door policy (Most of management and execs are super friendly and accessible) - Cafeteria is pretty awesome with good variety and great prices - Shuttle service between buildings

Cons

- I don't love that sick time can affect your dependability. Some employees just have health issues but they're good at their jobs. Might be something the company can revisit and improve upon. - Jobs that don't require being in office should offer more remote work flexibility i.e. 3-4 days from home, 1 in office, as long as performance is satisfactory. (We do 3 days in office, 2 days from home currently) - Actual salaries could be a little better for certain roles (But I personally look at the bigger picture) - The company's been around for a while so sometimes it takes a bit to get things changed/modernized because people get comfortable doing the same thing they've done for years. It's something I feel the organization is aware of, and has been actively improving upon, but still worth mentioning for the sake of transparency. - Massive (beautiful) Campus with basketball and new pickle ball court, but no EV chargers... Not a good look as a leader in the Auto industry

Thank you so much for the five-star review and for taking the time to share such detailed feedback with us on Glassdoor! We’re always happy to know that our culture, benefits and campus offerings are valued, and we appreciate the kind words. We continually explore ways to enhance our Corporate Office location and have reviewed EV charging options, which remain under consideration. Regarding sick time, please know we encourage eligible employees to consider pursuing claims under the Family and Medical Leave Act. We’re more than happy to discuss our dependability policy and FMLA with you anytime. Please also know that we’re always listening to the feedback we receive from our employees, and we’d welcome the opportunity to learn more about some of the comments you’ve shared in your review! If you’re interested in sharing additional details, could you please email us at employeefeedback@amica.com? Thank you again for your review!

Pros

Nearly all remote work for most (some are 100% remote). Some still hybrid if you are unfortunate to live close to a branch. They try to keep work life balance there for you. Most management (some do not) actually care for you personally. For the industry, caseloads are manageable (still tough job).

Cons

They are slowly becoming more and more controlling in how you work. The new phone system that is coming in (Genesis) is "big brother" listening in and monitoring your day-to-day activities to make sure you are in fact working. NOT A GOOD FEELING! It started with front line staff and now they seem to be rolling it out to their tenured adjuster staff. They should let the fact that we are settling claims show for itself. They say it is "training." I say it is intrusive and fosters a feeling of mistrust. Can't wait to retire! I love what I do, but don't like the trend I am seeing and feeling.
