Pros

There are some incredibly talented people who work for this company. Anaplan as a whole really strives to provide an innovative and flexible space to work in. Anaplan also offers a great product that really disrupts the space. Great CEO Unlimited PTO Great Maternity/Paternity Benefits

Cons

There are 1 or 2 extremely toxic people who are ruining it for everyone and causing very talented people to leave. Instead of seeing the people who are the issue, the departures of multiple people in one department are explained away as they didn't like "change" or were just creating drama. HR has basically ignored repeated complaints regarding these toxic people whereas at other companies they would have been fired for code of conduct violations a long time ago. Although the CEO is great, he is not tuned in to what is happening in some departments and the efforts of other C-Suite leaders implementing things that go against the culture that Anaplan is built on such as flexible work environments and unlimited PTO. Although Anaplan is generally a "young" company there are are people in leadership roles that are completely under qualified and were promoted without any interview or screening process. They just advocated for themselves and played the politics instead of working hard and making a difference.

Pros

One thing I genuinely appreciated was that the C-suite seemed invested in keeping everyone in the loop. The monthly town halls felt like more than just a formality and gave you a real sense of where the company was headed. When you had a good stretch, people noticed. The company feels like it has real momentum and on a macro level.

Cons

Leadership was inconsistent in my experience and seemed to depend heavily on which manager you ended up with. It often felt like luck of the draw. I personally found the planning process to be more reactive than strategic, with urgency only kicking in once results were already suffering rather than getting ahead of it. The workplace culture also had a gossip element that I found draining over time. My biggest frustration was around performance recognition. I observed situations where reported numbers didn't seem to reflect reality, yet the consequences appeared minimal at best. I would have liked to see more transparency and accountability around how top performers were identified and rewarded, because in my experience the current approach didn't always feel equitable to those who were playing by the rules.
