Andela's greatest strength is its people and their passion for the future of work. Talented, brilliant minds not afraid to get their hands dirty and come to work every day with a get-things-done mentality. Teams are supportive and collaborative and that shines through in the massive strides the company has made in the last year. There is also a strong emphasis on mental health that is reflected in the amazing benefits, unlimited PTO, and encouragement to take time off. There is unlimited opportunity for personal and career growth so it's an exciting time to be here. Also, Andela has one of the best remote cultures out there (slack, zoom, virtual happy hours, etc). The entire team meets monthly and quarterly to intro new people, announce updates and outlook for the company, and answer questions and concerns. The culture feels very connected and supportive especially during Covid-19.
Cons
Andela is a startup. It is exciting but if you can't adapt to change or dislike a fast paced environment, it will be difficult. You get what you put in - reach out and make relationships, be ready to roll up your sleeves.
