Pros

Very positive work environment, Encouragement, Flexibility, Goes by very fast each day. If you can manage to convince these customers to have money on their credit card: you can make crazy money here. You have to have a proper tone of voice, a bit of luck and a gigantic amount of patience though... most sales jobs are not as tough as this.

Cons

Favoritism with the "online leads" They give the best phone numbers to the top performing employees which basically means the rich get richer.. the poor get poorer. Unrealistic Expectations with expecting every single customer to have a crazy bank account balance and expect them to change their mind while repeating yourself at least 50 times. I believe they changed the company name from Angi's List to Angi's Lead due to many complaints and lackluster results from their customers which is gonna make it a Tough sell for their sale rep's. Basically encourages you to annoy customers and come off extremely money hungry. They will fire you if you don't have a certain amount of *approved* sales ... which is totally out of the employees control. A sale here means you convinced the person on the phone to give their credit card and sign the Angi contract for the service. A approved sale is the same thing but they actually have money on the credit card so it doesn't bounce back. You can get 10 - 20 sales and if they don't have money on it. They will end up putting you on a Performance Improvement plan and end up firing you. It's complete luck this job.

Thanks for leaving a candid review about your time as an Angi team member. While we're glad you resonated with our positive work environment and flexibility, we are disheartened by your depiction of how leads are distributed. Our sales managers are passionate about equipping their teams for success through the procurement of leads. There are plenty of leads to go around and we have clear pathways defined by our managers on how to obtain the warmer leads with individuals having the same tools and training at their disposal to get where they need to be. We understand nuanced scenarios will transpire when reaching out to the volume of local service providers we do. Sales is not always easy with some weeks (or months) being more lucrative than others. For those struggling to meet their goals or consistently bring on new partners to our platform, we encourage individuals to reach out to their manager or myself directly so we can put a plan in place. We appreciate your time leaving a review and wish you the best in your next role. - Tom Cheatham, SVP Sales Strategy

Pros

The culture is generally positive, and leadership is accessible. Management is willing to meet with employees and listen to concerns. There are talented people throughout the organization, and the work can be rewarding if you enjoy sales and helping businesses grow.

Cons

The biggest challenge is the compensation structure. The company promotes uncapped commissions, but many employees feel earnings are effectively controlled through continually increasing quotas and changing performance targets. Revenue and nominal goals are adjusted so frequently that it can feel like the finish line is always moving. What's particularly frustrating is that the majority of the sales team often struggles to reach 100% of quota, yet goals continue to rise. This creates the perception that compensation expense is being managed through quota increases rather than by allowing top performers to fully benefit from the revenue they generate. Over time, this can discourage high achievers. Employees who consistently perform well are often expected to deliver significantly more results each year just to maintain the same level of compensation. When exceptional performance is met with ever-increasing targets instead of proportionally increasing rewards, motivation suffers.
