Pros

I recently joined Angi with high hopes and expectations based on the initial interview process. However, my experience with the company turned out to be quite disappointing and left me with mixed feelings. First and foremost, I must highlight the issue of being offered employment under false pretenses. During the interview process, I was given clear assurance about certain aspects, particularly regarding the availability of time off. However, on my very first day, I was informed that I would not be able to take the time off that had been previously discussed. This left me feeling misled as it was for my bachelorette something I could not reschedule. Moreover, I found the work environment to be somewhat unprofessional within my first day. There was a lack of transparency and open communication within the company. What seems to be no work life balance. The incident I mentioned earlier regarding the false promises reflected this lack of professionalism. Additionally, I noticed a prevalent sense of arrogance among some individuals within the organization. It seemed as though they believed they had invented sales and were dismissive of alternative approaches or ideas we were told "to throw all prior knowledge out the window". This attitude created an unwelcoming atmosphere for collaboration and hindered the potential for constructive growth within the team. Overall, my employment experience with Angi for the one day I was there was disappointing due to the initial misleading information, an unprofessional environment, and an attitude of superiority among some individuals. I hope that future candidates and the company itself can learn from these shortcomings to create a more positive and respectful workplace and understand there employees have lives outside of work.

Pros

The culture is generally positive, and leadership is accessible. Management is willing to meet with employees and listen to concerns. There are talented people throughout the organization, and the work can be rewarding if you enjoy sales and helping businesses grow.

Cons

The biggest challenge is the compensation structure. The company promotes uncapped commissions, but many employees feel earnings are effectively controlled through continually increasing quotas and changing performance targets. Revenue and nominal goals are adjusted so frequently that it can feel like the finish line is always moving. What's particularly frustrating is that the majority of the sales team often struggles to reach 100% of quota, yet goals continue to rise. This creates the perception that compensation expense is being managed through quota increases rather than by allowing top performers to fully benefit from the revenue they generate. Over time, this can discourage high achievers. Employees who consistently perform well are often expected to deliver significantly more results each year just to maintain the same level of compensation. When exceptional performance is met with ever-increasing targets instead of proportionally increasing rewards, motivation suffers.
