Nicely stocked kitchen Casual Fridays Bonus program Decent happy hours and Christmas parties Paid benefits and robust 401(k) program
Cons
Company culture is, as others have mentioned, toxic. The owners and executives are aggressive bullies, complete with macho posturing straight out of Madmen. It is a classic male-dominated environment, with women as second-class citizens. If you're not in the "boys club", you're in for a rough time. Executives can be verbally abusive to the people below them, creating a tense and stressful environment, sending mixed and confusing messages of what they want and then berating you for getting it wrong. You will often have to pull 60+ hour weeks (especially around events and rate changes) and work weekends with minimal thanks. There is a definite lack of process for handling initial high level projects of any sort, nor is there pre-planning of big events and projects, which leaves employees to scramble things together at the last minute. Also, there definitely are too many cooks (executives) trying to all get their own ideas through in some sort of egotistic war amongst one another. Better be fond of stress if you work at Annexus. There is a culture of gossip and backstabbing as well, and you truly cannot trust anyone. People can smile to your face then turn around and completely tear you down to someone else. Also, if you do decide to work at Annexus, make sure you get a pay rate you're content to be stuck with forever, because raises? Forget about it. You have to work yourself to the bone to be considered worthy of one. They will try to pacify you with the bonus program, but a bonus program cannot replace raises, as bonuses are conditional and non-guaranteed. All in all, there are better, more positive work environments to go to.
