Ansys is not for Marketers and doesn't support Diversity & Inclusion - Anonymous employee Ansys Employee Review

Pros

Ansys doesn't have good benefits or any culture, but they pay well and put blindfolds on everyone as long as they're getting paid

Cons

Where do I begin... 1. Absolutely no culture whatsoever. People who want to bring culture to the company get penalized. If you accomplish something very big or get a project done, you get criticized. It's very cutthroat and everyone wants to bring others down in order for themselves to shine. 2. No DE&I - all management are white male. They don't hire African Americans or Latino, and if they do they get fired. No support for females - they are looked down at from all the male leadership and co-workers. 3. No growth path for employees - the job you have, well, you're stuck with it. Ansys would rather hire externally for management roles than to grow people from within. At Ansys it's all about who you know and who you want to bring in from other organizations. 4. Marketing dept - if you're a true Marketer, you don't want to work here. Their marketing department is filled with non-marketers who are learning along the way. All the way from sr. leadership down to the base level, the department is filled with product marketers and communications people. My advice to everyone looking to work at Ansys or for those who are already here, don't let the comp blind you - it's not worth it. Your mental health, physical wellbeing are much more important. And if you are a person of color or female - don't waste your time.

Pros

Flexibility with WFH/Hybrid depending on your job/team Great starting PTO + decent sick/family time Challenging work Smart, hard-working co-workers People work here for decades because it's a great work culture

Cons

It's a software company. Cramming features in at the last minute, and requiring long hours from testing & doc to meet deadlines, is frustrating but not unexpected Benefits are just OK - lost all of my doctors when they stopped having one local insurance option If you're in R&D but not an engineer, you are undervalued for bonuses No upward path if you don't want to manage - eventually you stagnate and have nowhere to go Agile dev process is challenging for documentation and testing and is not always realistic with big projects Huge uncertainty after Synopsys buyout - I've had bad experiences with EDA companies undervaluing some jobs in the past (testing/doc] so not feeling any job security at the moment
