Pros

Anthem is a good entry level company if you're just getting your footing in the industry. Things other reviews have mentioned like summer Fridays, holiday closures, team outings/events and the hybrid work structure are great. There are a lot of really great people who work at the company that are lower on the totem pole, and a few Sr. Management that are really special. The company itself is decently well connected and they do encourage networking at industry events.

Cons

Senior leadership needs a lot of work, there are a lot of great people at the company who are hungry and eager to learn and they are not being built up within the company. Raises/bonuses are laughable - don't expect to get paid more when you get a title change or take on an influx of work due to team members quitting. Management is aware of some pretty significant issues within the company caused by certain managers and they constantly get brushed under the rug and the severity of the issues is downplayed significantly. Morale has become abysmal in the last year or so, when leadership changed there was a brief period of optimism from the bottom up, but it's since fallen again. This is likely due to the amount of raises/promotions that have been denied despite workers going above and beyond, there is definitely an air of "acting my wage." Management seems to try to combat that by increasing company lunches and events right around fiscal year end/review time, and it just feels gross. Most people that are below the Sr. Management level have to have two + jobs in order to support themselves, the lunches/free tickets/company events are nice, but they don't pay the bills. I've noticed a lot of people have lost their spark and their drive, and a lot of people in the last year or so have left because of it. A particular senior manager was heard in the office talking about how they were going to buy a new car with their bonus, while most received bonuses equivalent to one extra pay cheque, and word travels fast within the company. There seems to be a double standard on things like working from home, sick days, or appointments based off of your level of sonority or what department you work in. Some managers are more flexible with WFH during the week or appointment/sick days, and others are incredibly strict about it, and it leaves those who are in office 3x a week with a bad taste in their mouth.

Pros

The team around the CEO is great. But they're not allowed to shine.

Cons

The CEO, Helen Murphy, is the most under-qualified person in management that I've ever seen in the music industry OR any industry for that matter. She listens to no one and makes the worst decisions possible. She's had to have cost this company at least a million dollars and that's on the low end. A terrible leader who has no pulse on what is happening within the company or the industry. She also has found a way to use the company for her own personal means which is deplorable. Although she actually brought in some qualified consultants even most of them were forced to leave due to her ineptitude. Perhaps they, too, couldn't take the constant lying and posturing that goes on. I'm actually not sure how she got this job to begin with. I was happy to see a woman rise to leadership in this company but, unfortunately in the end, I have been sadly disappointed. Women are talked down to and made to feel small. At least she does it to the men as well. Thankfully, I have moved on to other employment but I feel very sad for the people left behind, although I suspect they will all continue to leave one by one.
